1150 PS re-assembly issues

Aloha everyone -

I recently replaced the igniter on my 1150 PS and now it won't reassemble. I found the 12-page PDF on how to replace and reassemble it, but the pictures don't accurately represent the actual smoker. It's the only smoker I know where the burn pot drops out of the bottom, but I cannot get the igniter rod to properly secure back into the smoker. Has anyone else dealt with this?
