Austin xl onyx controller on austin xl

Hey just got one of the austin xl's on clearance at Walmart and I am wondering if the onyx xl controller will work on the basic austin xl.

Yes it will. Worst case, you might need to modify the opening so that it fits. I don't know if the shape is different.

Did it fit 1 to 1 or did you have to modify? I also got one from Walmart and wondering the same thing.
