We do Christmas on Christmas Eve with my wife’s family every year. We host, and I usually do the primary cooking. I changed up my turkey recipe last year and a everybody went absolutely nuts over. It was completely picked clean. This year my MIL informed me that there’s no need to cook the turkey, she will handle it. I reluctantly agreed. My wife tells me a little bit later her mom told her and her sisters that my turkey was too good last year and overshadowed everything she made. So she will make the turkey better this year. I chuckled. That’s probably the worst best compliment my cooking has ever gotten.
