Brunswick problem

Okay, so you are saying you are getting smoke coming out of your pellet hopper? Now I understand. Sorry, I don't have advice for that. I haven't had that issue with mine, although it looks like occasionally some others have. Not sure what the solution is.
 
If you have smoke coming out of the hopper....

Keep your eye on it.
Don't back it up to anything combustible until you're sure it is off and cool and you're sure you don't have a hopper fire.

A number of people, including myself, have reported hopper fires in the Brunswick.

Going forward screening your pellets is a good idea.

Not saying this is your issue as you describe but during shut down I still have some smoke escaping the hopper. I always dig a hole over the auger just to verify but some smoke does escape during shut down. If I did not open the hopper lid, I may not ever notice it
