Hey folks! Brand new smoker here, thoroughly enjoying what I've done so far on my Pro 850 (chicken, brisket, ribs, pork butt, burgers, and salmon).

As to my question, I'm wondering if there's a way to cancel a recipe. Reason: I was doing some burgers for the first time, and when I was doing a long cook, I realized that if I didn't have a recipe set to hold my temp, after an undetermined amount of time, the temp would automatically go down to 180° and I'd have to manually go back to 225°.

So, I set my burgers on and made a recipe for 1 hour at 225°, Once I got to my initial desired temp, I wanted to crank to 400° and flame broil — but I wasn't able to manually adjust the temp because I was still in my recipe timer. I had to modify the recipe to 400°...basically saving over my existing recipe.

Seems like there has to be some simple way to just cancel a recipe though.

Thoughts?

Thanks!
Maury

when you power down the grill the recipe will be forgotten, it has no memory.
When I first attempted to use the recipe feature, my grill shut off after the first hour.
It's not worth using.

I think you may have misread my post. You can't power down in the middle of a cook. I need to cancel a recipe on the fly if possible, as opposed to modifying a recipe.

I think if you just push the control knob until the recipe timer flashes, you just change the time to zero and set it.
I tried it a couple times and just don't use it.
