Do any of you happen to have the instructions for replacing the controller on the the PBV4PS2? The instructions that Pitboss sent me are for the 1st version, which is clearly not the same.

Easiest way to change it is.
Get a putty knife, on the sides of the controller are 3 tabs on each side.
These have to be depressed and pull on the controller slightly. each one depressed and the controller comes out, you'll see the temp probe to be removed and disconnected from the controller. Install the new probe and make the connection then slide the controller back in, it will snap back into place with those tabs you depressed, like on the old one.

This way is easier than taking out a dozen or so screws like the owner's manual says. And a new controller doesn't come with instructions in the box.

That way is a lot more work and a good chance or dropping losing a screw/screws into the hopper. The way I mentioned it, I can swap it out in 5 minutes. BTW the putty knife I used was a plastic one, make sure it's unplugged before taking it apart.

I've not cooked with it yet. I did fire it up to make sure it worked. 140-410 in 10 degree increments is a huge improvement over the BS 175-400 with 25-50 degree increments.
That would be nice if my 1150 started out at 140 degrees. Mine starts at 180 degrees.

Can anyone recommend the best way to contact PB for a replacement controller? and what they said to PB? Mine on my vertical has worked somewhat ok (vertical pro with old 25deg increment controller) but the last couple of cooks I have had an out-of-control temp increase, temp just kept going up. I caught in time and adjusted down and that worked, but it has never been great at temp control and now I think it is a safety issue and I want to ensure I get a new controller. thanks, bob

Mine was replaced because the bluetooth/wifi did not function properly or at all really. They had me download an app that searches for bluetooth signal and verify that there wasn't one. was maybe a 10 minute phone call.

Same problem with mine back a year ago, new controller solved my issue. 10 deg increments. They ended up sending me 2 controllers.
