Door Latch Broken on a Pro Series PBV4PS2

I need to order a replacement part for my Pro Series PBV4PS2. The door latch broke after 4 uses.
I had to use a strap to hold the door closed to finish smoking a Turkey for thanksgiving. Very Dissatisfied with the design of the latch on a high quality product. You need to go back to engineering and have it redesigned.

I think the latch you need is a Draw Latch. I think Masterbuilt uses one similar. Nothin beats OEM, but most of these latches aren't proprietary, they are third party sourced, just need to look at search results.

I recommend calling into Pit Boss support and lodging this complaint. This is a common problem and hopefully the more complaints PB gets on this issue will trickle up to higher management if it hasn’t already.

Thanks for that post. Looks like the search key word that nails it is “draw latch”.
I’m thinking that while I’m at it I may install a latch at the bottom too. The door is warped there a bit and it’s a smoke escape route.

If I remember correctly.....which at my age is quite a feat.....that latching mechanism screws into the smoker with Slots.....I think. If so, then you might need to adjust it closer, when you buy a replacement, so the tension is not too much.

Just a thought to help out.....am not quite sure.....
