I recently was gifted an older pitboss smoker, model number pbv4ps1. The smoker seems to work fine, I fired it up and haven't had any issues. I just need to clean it before using it. My question relates to the control board.
My control board is very dim, probably from prolonged exposure to the sun. So I want to replace it. It seems like I can find an exact replacement relatively easy. But Im wondering if I can replace it with one of the bluetooth/wifi control boards. It would be quite convenient, but I cant seem to find a control board that is both Connect and also supports this smoker. I found one that looks just like the old board, but it says its for the grills, not smokers. Has anybody tried using a control board for a grill on a smoker, or does anybody know if this would work? I would just buy the board and try it but I dont want to accidentally wreck anything if it doesn't. Thanks for any info!
