Grayed out P setting?

My wife just bought me a PitBoss PB1300PS4 for my birthday. I have always used barrel smokers, so this is new to me. I have watched just about every YouTube video and have read aver Reddit post on this. In settings on the digital screen, the "P-Setting" is grayed out and I can't click on it to change it. From the videos I've watched and the things I've read, this is how I control smoke? How do I fix this. I have yet to call customer support, maybe I will do that Monday. Again, this is new to me so be gentile please.

I believe the P setting only works on Smoke mode. If it isn’t on smoke mode that might be why it’s grayed out.

I might add that the default P setting of 4 is just fine. Every time I turn mine higher I get a flame out because of the amount of time is just too long. My other Pit Boss doesn’t have a P setting at all and it actually makes more smoke but that might be because it’s a vertical smoker.

The manual for my Lexington 500 says the temperature setting has to be at it's lowest before the changing the P setting.
