Very disappointed in the Laredo 100, so far on my second smoke or cook it has been over an hour to get to 225 - Anyone know why?

First question is
How often do you clean your grill including the temperature sensor?
I clean mine after each cook.
If it’s dirty it won’t operate properly
If you do clean all this after each cook it could be your controller
You’d have to call pitboss support to send you another one for free if it’s still under warranty

How do you recommend cleaning the probe? I would like to clean mine. I have cooked 5 times on it, I'm sure it needs it.First question is

I take the two screws out on the cover.
I use a yellow sponge from dollar general and dawn dishwashing liquid
Dry it off with a paper towel and put the cover back on.

Hey Thanks! I used easy off oven cleaner on a paper towel. It was filthy! Came out all shiny and looking new!

Runs right up to temp much quicker now. I'm shocked at the difference!

That's how I do it. It's also how I clean my grates. Prop them up spray each side and hard spray off.

Really makes a difference after the probe is cleaned! I did not take the box off around it either. I should.probably do that tomorrow as well. They may be a while nother half a probe behind the little shield. Looks only to be 2 screws
