What pellet smoker are you buying?

I had major wind gusts come through this morning and my Pro Series rolled down a few stairs and took a crash. (Rookie mistake not locking the wheels. Thought with it being up against a wall would be enough.) Definitely will have water damage on the inside of it. May have set like that for 90 minutes or so in heavy rain. Chimney and pellet hopper are both bent. Diffuser is damaged along with the broiler slide cover. Letting it dry out but will likely be in the market for another one.

Hate to hear about your smoker. For me, I'd probably get into it and see if I could salvage it and make it work. If not and you're in the market for a new one, have a look at how/what you cook.

I've got an 1150 Pro I use for large cuts and long cooks. I use it a few times a month. I've also got a 150 Tailgater that I use a few times a week. It's perfect for cooking steaks, chicken, a single slab, etc. but it can't handle a couple of butts and the hopper limits the cook time. I couldn't do without either of them. I'm not going to wait on the 1150 to hit 450 so I can cook a few burgers and I'm not going to give up smoking whole brisket. Figure out what job you want to accomplish then figure out what tool you need. I've been cooking on Pit Boss for years and will stick with them. The equipment isn't perfect but none of them are and Pit Boss has always stood by the product in my experience. Good luck.

If I had to do it again, I’d go bigger. I have a 1100 and sometimes (most of the tim) it’s a bit small. I’d do dedicated smoker with dedicated grill too.

Thats the advice I'm glad I got when I got mine. I was told that you never want to wish you had more space. I got the 1600 pro for that reason. It was great advice because even the 1600 isn't big enough at times 🙄

We have two Navigators a 500 and 1000. Plus a Louisiana 1000 at home. The Navigators are pre wifi. All amazing units! Is three too many lol. I don't think so. I was curious about pellet grills before retiring. We were recent Pit Boss dealers at work. I was the manager and ordered pallets of them. Customer service was great and easy to work with! My wife decided to purchase one for a retirement gift. I got the last 500 Navigator in the showroom. I like challenges and want to keep busy. Perfect gift. Led to purchasing a 1000 Navigator for lake cabin I share ownership with four childhood friends. Lake cabin is 180 miles from home. We camp on the river south of town on weekends 35 miles away. Last year I was looking for a used Pit Boss for the camper. Got a great deal on slightly used 1000 Louisiana. Kept the Louisiana at home and 500 went to camper. Smoke something most weekends at campground. Camping friends love it! I smoke throughout the year even in bitter cold North Dakota winter.
