Latch issue at high temps

Had an issue with the latch come up when the smoker was around 425F.
I was able to open the door but when reclosing it the part of the latch that pulls the door to seal would not fit around the part on the door.
Probably something to do with expansion because after cooling down I could get it to work again.
I’m going to keep an eye on this and if it persists it’s call support time.

I’ve seen where guys put a couple of newer latches on just because of that. They’re adjustable

I might have had this issue once so far too. I can't remember exactly what my issue was but it seems right. I did a pizza, wherein we had the smoker set to max for like an hour to heat the pizza stone. I didn't think much of it as on subsequent smokes, and up til then, the latch works well. The pizza was OK, but probably have little use for cranking mine up to max again for a while.
