More smoke

I'm going to be making Pork Candy and would like more smoke. I have a smoke tube but have read that you can mix both pellets and wood chips. My question is do you soak the wood chips before adding to the smoke tube or just use them dry? I would think wet chips would affect the pellets in the tube. TIA

I use them dry in my smoke tube. I think that is the preferred method.

Dry. I add a small handful pellets then a small handful of chips and shake. Do this back and forth till full. Finish with pellets then hit it with a torch or alcohol starter fluid. Let it burn upright for around 5 min.

Dry and mix it up give some charcoal pellets a try I have and I dont think I will go back to normal just wood

I’ve been using smoke tube for a while now but more recently with a chip and pellet mix. What I found out is the tubes burn up more quickly with the chip mix. I’m going to add another 12 inch tube to my equipment.

Dry. I mix pellets n chips in a bowl and fill the tube. Never want wet pellets, do ya?
