Question?? Anyone ever have their grill start on its own?? It has happened twice to me now. The first time it occurred the grill cover was on it so I assumed someone or something touched the control panel by accident. This Las time the cover was off and no one was near it and I started to smell the smoke and thought my neighbor was getting his grill ready to cook and to my surprise the smoke was coming from our grill. The thinks we are going to have to unplug this unit to make sure we don’t have anymore issues. But what a pain unless I wire a plug in to it with a switch to control it. We have a Laredo 1000 platinum purchased new last November.

I never leave mine plugged in either. I also use an extension cord, of the proper gauge, and don't want to gamble with water finding its way in
I have been. Using a wyze plug outdoor and can watch power usage and turn the power on and off remotely no problems so far still I unplug when I'm leaving it between cooks

It has a touch panel, so it’s not surprising. It can accidentally get turned on. I guess that’s why the manual says to unplug it after it does the cool down cycle.
