I've been eyeing the Pit Boss vertical pellet smokers for a while, an upgrade from my Masterbuilt electric cabinet smoker, and I finally pulled the trigger yesterday at Lowes on a PBV4PS2. I got it put together this afternoon, the build quality wasn't entirely what I was expecting, but it wasn't the worst, other than a handful of un-popped pop rivets that were floating around in the thing. I got it wheeled around to the deck tonight to do it's first time burn-in, and there's smoke leaking from around the door, the window gasket, and pretty much anyplace any of the side pieces meet. Additionally there are embers floating up from the bottom, and every once in a while they come out the bottom from between the door and the smoker. I'm not sure if I should me making adjustments to the panels and trying to tighten things up or what, nothing like that was covered in the instruction manual. I hate to return the thing, it's too big when it's assembled to fit in the back of my vehicle, and I tore all the boxes down already. I had high hopes, hoping somebody can talk me down off the ledge.
