Newbie Question

Hi ALL,

New to smoking, just assermbled my Navigator dual 1230G and am currently doing the First Use Burn off.

Noticed that the dial says smoke, then has various tempreture settings. May be a sill question, if you want to smoke do you have to have the dial on the smoke setting, or can you also smoke at any of the tempreture settings. If so, not sure why you need a seperate smoke position on the dial.

Looking forward to smoking a brisket to make pastrimi this weekend.

Basically on smoke mode you get the most smoke but it still smokes anyway no matter the temp. You just get more on smoke mode. I usually do pork butts on the smoke setting for several hours before going up to 250. You get more smoke that way but it takes longer to cook.
