Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can help me out with a frustrating issue I'm having with my Pit Boss PB 456. I live in Minnesota, and the grill last worked perfectly about 2 months ago when I smoked some wings. It's always been covered, and while I did notice some wetness on it today, I've grilled in the rain before with no problems. In fact, I just used my PB 1150 to smoke ribs for Christmas with no issues at all.

Here's what's happening:
  • Plugged in the PB 456.
  • It powers on but the display panel is completely black.
  • I hear the fan and auger running.
  • I see and smell smoke, so the grill is clearly cooking.
  • But after about 2 minutes, the grill automatically shuts off.
Before I consider replacing the display panel, I'm hoping someone can suggest some troubleshooting steps I can try. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Additional info:

  • Model: Pit Boss PB 456
  • Last used: 2 months ago for smoking wings
  • Location: Minnesota (cold/damp weather)
  • Noticed wetness on grill today
  • Other Pit Boss grill (PB 1150) working perfectly

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thank you for taking the time to read my issue

Cheers,
Welcome from Texas to the group!!
Check your fuse first but it definitely sounds like a controller issue
Hopefully this helps you 🇺🇸🇺🇸
