PB1600PS1, i see a lot of grease around the ash pot. Why would it go there?

When i remove the ash pot on my PB1600PS1 i see a lot of grease around the pot. Why would it go there?

I have the same model, I find grease down there too. I'm not sure how it gets there. I assume it finds its way to the bottom of the barrel and drips into the outside of the removable ash pot. I clean it when I empty the ash pot and have never had an issue.

Glad it isn't just me, but it would be a nice thing to get corrected on newer models I guess.
