What temps are you guys getting with smoke settings (S) on the new PBV4PS2?

Im doing a dry run to see what temps id get and using a thermpro inside the cabinet, its showing 130-150 temps. Outdoor temps are only in the mid 60's today.
What's odd is the smokeit app is showing only 80F, while it's clearly much higher using the probe.

I feel that's a bit low to be smoking meat and avoid bacteria growth like i've read.

I'm going to let it go for hour or so than turn it up to 225 and see where the temps go.

Edit*
Smoke it app updated, temps show much higher on the unit itself. So we are looking at 20* higher with the probe vs what the smoker is saying.

probe was 145* smoker was saying 125*

apparently it’s 20* higher than it really says

granted, this was any empty cabinet with no meat, it might be more even if there was, but I’d imagine than the temp would say so on the smoker.

I’m going to order a analog gauge and replace the pitboss logo on the door with it and see how the temp changes vs what the smoker says.

I have the same smoker. I use S to start it up , bring it to 250 deg. Winter I'll set it to 300 deg to maintaind 250-260 deg.

How long you leave it on smoke? And what temp does it go to before you change it to 225?

I leave it on S till I can hear the roar of the fire and feel some heat out of the vents maybe 5 -7 mins. Then I'll close the door and bring the temp up to 250. i did forget to bump it up once before and the temp I got was 180 deg. in smoke.
