I have a pit boss PBV4PSI copper series and it will run a while and give me an errl fault everything I have read points to the thermocouple. Tried changing it no luck. Changed the control board no luck. Tried yet another thermocouple and still no luck. I am in Wisconsin and it seems to happen more often the colder it is. Bought it in 2019 and never had a problem running it in the cold until last year. Anyone out there have any solutions. Apparently Pit Boss doesn't care about responding to e-mails as I have tried to contact them and no results.

If your ambient temperatures are very low and your smoker does not want to start (ERL/ERR) ... you can use a hair dryer, Heat gun, brûlée torch or any heat source on the RTD or digital thermometer probe on the inside of barrel on left side. Heat it up until the controller displays shows ACTUAL temperatures above freezing; that will then allow the grill to start and go through normal start up. Once it is going and it heats up it will run normally.
