I have a PB1150PS3, and I've used the probes that come with it. However, there is often a major difference between what those probes say versus my insta read thermo. Was wondering if any of you have issues with the probes that come with the PB.

I used them before I got my Meatstick probes, they seemed solid. I just use them for grate temp now.

I can say that when I start up my Comp all 3 probes displays on the control match and show the same temp as the outdoor temp. As a grate temp monitor they seem to track correctly with the cool spots and the ambient sensors on my Meatsticks.

So I guess I haven't had problems with them. I just don't rely on them to cook with any more.

Welcome from the holler!

My PB probes seemed off as well (~30° low). I have a ThermPro 2 probe model that works well enough for now.

I usually use one in the meat and one at cooking shelf height to read chamber temp, and adjust the Pit Boss temp for the desired temp at food level.

Welcome!! I use a 4 probe wireless ThermoPro in the meat and for grill temps. I’m very happy with it!
