Pit boss try #2

Well- returned our first vertical smoker last week because weird auger noises.
Primed our new one tonight- and holy smokes (literally)!
Temp was climbing to 385 ( set to 350). The fire was so hot, the fire box was red !
Did I get another bad smoker ?

It should not glow that red hot. At first I thought maybe you needed to let it burn in for a while and let it settle down but my vertical has never had a red glow like that. And make sure there is water in the pan, but no personally I don't think it should glow red in a vertical smoker.

It's very unfortunate for you. I've been lucky, two Pit Bosses and minimal trouble. My vertical Series 3 has been awesome. Sorry you're having issues keep us updated.
