pitboss 1000 D3 randomly turned on

i woke up this morning and went outside to put my tools away because it was raining and the smoker was just on. it looked like it had just been turned on and it was set to 250. it wasn't even smoking yet. i turned it off and unplugged it. anyone else had this issue?

i'm thinking it must have been a short right? but the extender isn't really in the rain. and what are the chances that i woke up right when it turned on?

A few had this issue with their Pit Boss. Unplug it when not in use and give customer support a call, maybe a bad controller?
