Pro series 1150 temp drops suddenly

A couple times now I have been using the smoker and everything is going fine until I check it and see the temperature has dropped. The hopper is full so it should be getting pellets.

Any ideas why this would be happening?

Went back to check it again and even though it is set to 230 the temp was up to 265. Wtf?!

Temp swings like this aren't too uncommon on my Austin XL, so I wouldn't be too concerned. I'm not familiar - does yours have a PID? If so, I would expect a little tighter control.

The 1150 does have a PID controller. The temp swings will get a little better as you cook more. The PID will learn and be more accurate the more you cook.

Thanks for the input. I would expect a temperature to swing a little but the temp dropped from 230 down to nearly 150 before the igniter kicked in. Then it went all the way to 265.

My 1150 did this first couple months I had it. Each time I cooked on it though it got better.
