Hey everybody. New guy here. I only have 1 smoke session in and I am hooked. All I can think about is what to smoke next. I currently have a PBV4PS2 and the situation has not come up yet, but just wanted to get your thoughts. What do you do if you if really want to smoke something with possibility of rain showers happening every since day for a week? Do you use a canopy or anything? Or do you just plan for another time?

Thanks,

Pete

Awesome! Thanks for the responses. When a canopy/umbrella is used during smoking, does it smell like smoked meat after you are done using it? or cause any discoloration? How tall are they?
Mine is 8’ tall. Mine has none of those but in the end , who doesn’t like the smell of smoke

Lots of people seem to already have covered areas and /or the option to move into a garage. I do not, and I assume the OP also doesn't. So, for me, sadly I don't smoke on rainy days yet. I don't have a canopy and my patio table umbrella would just blow away if I tried using it with only the base and no table around it. If there's mixed chance, and it looks widely scattered, i might and then push it back towards the house but keep a close eye on it and move it back out after a brief shower.

I have a high fear of getting moisture in the hopper and clogging up the works with expanded and disintegrated pellets. Some day i'd like to get one of those half canopies that's like 4'x9' to put over it. i do have big soffits but I also don't run the smoker right up on the house unattended or for any meaningful length of time, for safety reasons.

Same I can’t smoke on rainy days either anymore. When I lived in Florida I used the carport. Now I have a huge back porch, covered and uncovered but the smokers stay on the uncovered part. So if it rains, no smoke for me. But if it snows- no problem it just takes a while to get the cold thing going. Should look into a canopy this summer.
