Removing Pellets from Auger

I have recently purchased a PBV4PS2 and wanted to remove the pellets from the auger while not in use. Is there any simple way of doing this? I have emptied the hopper, but it seems the auger would require removing the smoke pot and manually priming until all of the pellets fell out (tried this, pain in the butt). I guess it would be easier to just burn them, but that feels like a waste.

Just start it up and it'll run the pellets all up until you're out. But why would you want an empty augur, maybe if you store it for 8 - 12 months? A little in the augur won't hurt anything or the hopper.

I have the same model and since I got mine last September the longest I've gone without a smoke is probably a few weeks. But usually I'm doing something at least once a week. I've never cleaned out the pellets and everything seems to work just fine. Knock on wood.
