Smoke settings for 850 Pro

Hi All,

Brand new to the PB product. Family bought me one for Christmas.
I just got a 850 Pro (PB1600PS1) and I am uncertain how to use the smoking option. Mine does not have the S when pressing and holding the button in. When I press the round button and holding it in for a short while I can hear a click and then an L appears.
Is that the smoke section?
How do I use it?

Are you referring to pressing the round button before or after you power on the 850? The 850 pro should automatically start up in smoke mode. When you power on the smoker it should briefly show as S (some say it looks like a 5) and then show the temp in the chamber. Sorry if I didn't understand your question....

If you see L01 or L02 on your grill, these are simply just programming codes, not error codes. They will show at startup and then disappear quickly and the grill is still functioning properly.
If this is what you’re talking about then you should be fine
The clicking you’re hearing is the pellets going through the auger. Some pellets are longer than others and they are simply being broken up.
