If I want some ribs without waiting 4-5 hours, how long should I smoke them before moving them to a charcoal grill to finish?

Do you have a kettle grill with a vortex?
1-2 hours on smoke setting with a smoke tube should add a decent amount of smoke flavor.

Never used a electric smoker. How's the smoke output?
I've occasionally used my weber kettle with a wood fire in vortex. To do ribs cut individually hot and fast. Could probably do the same with a offset fire on chargriller.

Plenty of smoke....I and have done just that. I mainly got this smoker for butts
