Hi all, new to the forum but long time smoker. I got my Pit boss vertical PBV4PS2 about a month ago. I did everything according to manual (350 burn off etc) and everything was working great for the first few smokes until the last week. When I start it up, let it get it up to 130 and then set the temp up to 300. Here’s my issue, once it starts to heat up, it reaches about 200 and then temp on the control panel shoots up to 300, then 390, then 450, then 505, then 550 and then will shut off due to what it thinks is overheating. However, I have 3 different probes going on in the smoker and it’s reaching my set temp of 300 and that’s it. It’s actually going to the set temp and staying steady, but the temp probe and control panel are showing some crazy high, fluctuating temps. It it doesn’t shut it down due to the panel thinking it’s overheating, it will take about 15 mins for it to level out and then I’m good.
Has anyone seen this?

I'd call customer support 877 303 3134 option 2 first thing in the morning. Might be a bad temperature sensor or the control board or both.
