Temp sensor replacement

I have a 3 series vertical electric smoker. I need to replace the temp sensor. All the replacements I found online are too short. Mine is 24”. Any ideas? The tail coming out of the control is to short to modify with a shorter sensor.

Could you add some wire to with low heat solder butt connectors?
