Hello all, new to the forum hoping anyone can help me figure out whats the problem. Got my grill for Father’s day this year, started it up today and mid way through the cook i noticed that the temperature on the screen read 450, but the temperature on the grill front thermometer read 350. 100 degree difference is there any reason why? Thank you in advance.

Ignore the door thermometer. For a test put an external probe thermometer on the grate. See if it is close to the digital readout.

If you don't have another external thermometer I suggest everyone use one for cooks and problems like this.

I put in my probe that came with the grill inside , and it was reading about 50-100 degrees less than what I set the temperature to.

It depends on how close you put it to the internal probe. If it is near it then it should be close. However the external probes that come with it are not great. Mine usually reads 50 degrees higher when I use it to check meat temps

You have to be careful with the meat thermometers cables if you are using them above 400 degrees the cables even though they are protected they are weak and you can damage the probes.

Take Mikes advice and use a better system or do a test at between 200 and 250.
