Temperature Probes (Ambient and Meat)

Are other brands of temperature probes compatible with the Pit Boss units? I’d like to buy additional probes and would like to know if I must buy the Pit Boss brands ones. Also, regarding an ambient temp probe… Are we able to plug an ambient temp probe into the Pit Boss’ MP jack and get an accurate ambient temp reading?

lowes sells probes very cheap I have not had issues with them

I stopped using the Pitboss probes and now use Thermoworks Smoke. Much more accurate and has ambient and meat probes.
