Hi,
It's always taken me a long time to smoke anything since buying the Pro series II 850. I finally started using my inkbird thermometer to check the ambient temperature in the middle of my smoker. It turns out that the temperature displayed on the smoker is about 70F higher than the inkbird's readout. For example...right now the grill says 298F and the inkbird reads 228F. Any ideas?
Thanks

Welcome to the group. You will find that there will be cold spots. Best way to find them is take raw biscuits and spread them over the grill. That’s the easiest way to find them. It will get better the more you use the grill.

I've had the grill for about 2 years and used it at least 3 dozen times. As far as cold spots--are we talking a 70-80 degree difference?

Make sure your barrel probe is super clean and your chimney rain cap is open to max. I had similar experience as you until watching these two items, now everything is running pretty darn close on temps.
