So, Iv'e had my Pit Boss Vertical Pro Series smoker for nearly 2 years and overall have been thrilled with it. Today I am smoking some chicken and I set the temp for 225 but, at one point the actual temp was at 380, I turned it down to the smoke setting but half hour later the smoker temp is 300. What gives?

I should note, I'm smoking chicken breasts that should take a total time of 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. Current meat temp is 132 and cook time as of now is fast approaching 1 1/2 hours so I'm not overly concerned about killing the meat at this point but I'm curious about the high temp

Do you have the app installed on any of your devices? Since I've made sure there is no trace of any apps. My PB1150PS2 has done exactly what I want it to do!

No app installed. As I recall the smoker always read close to the commanded temp. Just before the meat came to temp, the smoker showed ErH, so it is overheating. I'll have to look into that

Have you verified the temperature with another thermometer?
