Wanna smoke a pig

I have a pb850. I'm thinking of smoking a less than 10 lb pig. Anybody out there have this experience smoking a succulent pig?
I done 3 pigs on 250 gallon (oval oil tank style) and 2 in Cuban Boxes. It takes alot of beer to and ice to cook a whole hog!
I looked into getting a store bought pig for my son's 40 birthday this past weekend. Around here the smaller they are the higher the price per pound. 30 pounder was near 10 bucks per pound. We bought him a USDA Prime brisket instead!

Wow, that's crazy. I had no clue on pricing for whole pigs, but since most cuts of pork at the store are under $5 per pound (with pork shoulders being much less), I would have thought a whole pig with bones would have been closer to $3-4 per pound.

If I can get some feedback from the forum guys, then maybe I will try this. I would hate to spend the money and fail the cook.

You could try one of these.

Pig farmer makes a lot more money on a grown hog, the cost of feed to weight on the hoof at market. But... .308 ammo is cheap!

"Sounds like an epic feast you've got going on with those pigs and Cuban boxes! 🐖🔥 And you're absolutely right, cooking a whole hog definitely requires a good amount of beer, ice, and patience. Prices for smaller pigs can be surprising, so the Prime brisket sounds like a delicious alternative for your son's 40th birthday celebration. Cheers to great food and memorable occasions!"
