Had this PB 850 Pro getting close to a year and have not been able to get it to connect to Wi-Fi not one yet. And Bluetooth only works if I am within 5 feet of the grill.
I have tried at least 30 times trying to get the Wi-Fi connected to work and it's become tiresome to say the least. Today I updated to the new software and was able to sit in front of the grill and update the firmware via Bluetooth, hoping they had fixed the Wi-Fi problems.
Well, that was another waste of 2hrs trying to get it to connect to Wi-Fi same problem as before. Just a vague message saying there was an error and it just repeats every time I try again.
And to make things even worse Bluetooth now no longer works. When I try and connect using Bluetooth standing in front of the grill it just throws another error message say "Missing Characteristic 15".
If it wasn't for this thing cooking as well as it does, I would push it off a cliff and deal with being out 800.00.
On top of all that the new app has other issues, like when you get the first failure connecting the Wi-Fi it goes back to the screen to enter the SSID and password or change and when you hit connect the screen just flashes and does nothing. In addition, you try and select a new SSID that screen will no longer show any networks near me, the list is just blank.
Go to the help page and there is an option to chat, click and it just always says Chat Not Available.
Click the FAQ button and it just takes you to another blank page and nothing loads.
It's not my Wi-Fi or network, I have two networks available one is a Linksys Router that has 2.4ghz and the other is a TPLink Deco mesh network that also supports both 5ghz and 2.4ghz.
I don't have any other Wi-Fi device that has issues connecting like this app.
Thats not to mention the other issues like when setting the temp on the grill it will only increment in 10 degrees at a time from 0 to 300 and from 300 and above it will only increment 25 degrees at a time. So, there is no way to set it at 225, or 275.
And I sure don't want to sit on the phone with their support for 2hrs doing all the same stuff I have already done.
I am a Senior Software developer and Cisco networking certified so this is not a case of an average user just not knowing what they are doing.
