150PPS pellets burning into the auger tube.

I have had problems with the unit when smoking for a few hours at 225. The pellets start to burn up into the auger tube, and it will start to smoke very heavy white smoke and come out of the hopper. To stop it I have to push the prime button for quite a long time until new pellets push the burning ones out. Any others with the same problem?
I’m having the same issues with mine. Spoke to customer service and they are saying it’s either a) I’m over-filling the pot when I start up or b) not using their pellets. But, I have a large Pro Series at home that I use the same pellets in with no problem at all. Seems to me there is a problem with the design of the 150PPS. They told me to clean it all completely out and gave exact instructions on how to start it and if I’m still experiencing the same issues to call back. I love my Pro-Series from Pit Boss but seriously second guessing my decision on buying this one for our RV.

Have had the same problem from day one, they don't seem to have a remedy, should stop selling these units and send a refund to all that purchased one. Sent a complaint a year ago, was told that it may be a controller problem. no remedy as yet. They should give a full refund, as it is their problem, not ours! Can't believe they are still selling this unit, and not addressing the problem!!! Have lost faith in Pit Boss!

I always start out cranking mine to 500 then pull it back down. Never had any trouble and have cooked on it quite a bit. I don't do low temps much so maybe that's the issue. For lower / longer cooks I use my 1150. Most of the meat I smoke wouldn't fit on the 150 but it's great for burgers, chicken, etc. Maybe when you finish your cook try running it up to max and turn it off after it gets there. Won't feed anymore and the fan will help finish it off. That's what I do and have never had a problem. Best of luck guys.
