Haven't tried it on ribs but have used it after 3 hours of smoke on brisket and loved the way it turned out it had a nice bark. Let us know how it turns outMy first 321 was wrapped in foil....this time in butcher paper... Sunday
That's me ive learned to try them all find the flavor you like then pick one and that way you don't bags of pellets everywhere1130 am...On the smoker @ 200...with a mixture of Apple, Hickory, Almond and Charcoal pellets. Now I can stick with 100% Apple for all my future smokes
For one rack I usually go to the left side on my 1150 usually front to back or diagonal and I usually rotate. I can fit 2 racks that way. Or I put them up on the top rack and rotate them. On top rack I usually have to put them left to right. When you all do ribs, let’s say it’s only one rack do you put them in the middle over the fire pot or go on the left or right side of smoker. Also are the ribs left to right or front to back when you put them on. Thanks
I have a 1150 and I more use the center to my advantage. Doing ribs I'll use left and right with the thicker ends to the center. As heavy as I keep mine wrapped in foil there's really not much difference across it.When you all do ribs, let’s say it’s only one rack do you put them in the middle over the fire pot or go on the left or right side of smoker. Also are the ribs left to right or front to back when you put them on. Thanks
Is you left side cooler than the rest of the grill on mine that is the cooler side. For one rack I usually go to the left side on my 1150 usually front to back or diagonal and I usually rotate. Yeah I meant the right side sorry. I do both though depending on what else is on. Either or is ok as long as you know the actual temp to adjust on the controllerIs you left side cooler than the rest of the grill on mine that is the cooler side.
Yeah when I do overnight brisket I always go on left side as I know it’s the coldest part of the grill so the brisket won’t get to cooked overnight. My right side is about 15-20 higher than what the temp on the led screen reads. So if I’m set to 250 my left is about 230 my right is about 270 or so.Yeah I meant the right side sorry. It’s a general guideline. Size of racks, quirkiness of your individual smoker etc come into play. When they’re done they’re done is the way to go3-2-1- doesnt work with baby backs. I did 3 slabs and after 2 1/2 hours I should have pulled them. They were done but I let it go another 1/2 hour and wrap for 30 minutes and they came out a little dry
