I can’t even open my back door! Over 12 inches of snow!
If you foil potatoes, they won't pick up much/any smoke flavor. The potatoes needed foil dried out a little the squash I cooked at 250 for 4 hrs with a sweet garlic rub And it was wonderful
I second the suggestion to NOT get the probe wet. The wiring doesn't like anything wet. Just rub it off - steel wool works. we used it for a while (get the kind without soap in it) . Nowwe use a scotch-brite pad because it doesn't rust,For cleaning all my probes, I use steel wool, it’s cheap and it can be used over and over, just dont get it wet or it’ll rust. I keep it in a closed ziplock bag in with my grill accessories which reminds me to clean em all before I get started grillin.
Smoke On
That or my favorite Duck Fat. I keep a couple spray cans in my grilling stuff. If you foil potatoes, they won't pick up much/any smoke flavor.
Instead, rub them with Margerine (or even Crisco) and it will both help them not dry out and let them get smoke flavor
