Anyone try these pellets yet?

Hmmm. Wonder if these are any good?

Royal Oak charcoal pellets. $16.97 a bag.
I use these in my KC Combo that I primarily use as a grill. They are amazing. As the bag says they seem to be moisture resistant. I filled the hopper a few months ago and have had no issue even as recently as last night.

I got a bag of Royal Oak charcoal pellets from Walmart. I’d like to try them in a mix with my regular wood pellets.
I’m new to this aspect so any ratio recommendations for wood:charcoal?

I just mixed a 20lb bag of charcoal with 40 lb bag of comp pellets and it tasted very good

I originally bought from Walmart 2 4th July ago they had special bags for the forth and cheap like $9 a bag before they came out with this..

Yes they are marked "burns hotter" which means you use less. To get same effect... Thinks wood burning stove vs coal burning stove same principle.

I now will mix these in with regular wood about 50/50. Or if bigger bags wood half charcoal then rest of bag of wood.

I use the food grade 5 gallon buckets from Walmart so 2 to store and one to switch out what might be in the smoker.
