Auger won't turn. Need Help

I have a PB820FB. It is aprox 3 years old. The auger will not feed pellets. I took it apart and the auger is clean and not jammed. I ordered a new motor and installed it. When I turned it on the large fan came on and what pellets that were in the burn chamber ignited and it started to smoke. But the motor did not start up and attempt to turn the auger. Could the control board be bad? Should I check the voltage to the motor? Thanks for any help. Hopping to have it working for Thanksgiving.

I would check if you have a good connection, then see if you get voltage to the motor. Might be a bad board or they sent a new but bad motor. Still under warranty for a couple more years.

Thanks. Called Pit Boss and they had me do a wire switch and determined that the board is bad. They are sending me a new one. Just hope it gets here before Thanksgiving.

I hope so, fingers crossed. I have an electric smoker as backup, but I would prefer not to have to use it.
