Ok I’ll have to check for that but I’m pretty sure because I do hear something after I turn it off.I hear mine after I shut it down. The auger stops and the fan finishes the burn.

Any luck after you blew it out?Ok I’ll have to check for that but I’m pretty sure because I do hear something after I turn it off.
Haven’t done it yet but when I do I’ll post to let you know how it goes on the phone with Pitt boss now trying to see what they say, only thing so far is they said to hit the fan with some WD, they said it may be working but my need a small cleaning woth sone WD.Any luck after you blew it out?
Yea its pretty loud. Look down into the firebox when running (through the slots) and it obvious there is a LOT of air blowing on the pellets in the fire box.Ok I’ll have to check for that but I’m pretty sure because I do hear something after I turn it off.
Ashes pile up in the fire box. Vacuum out the fire box. You probably have ashes jammed in the end of the auger tube there. So I have been getting a lot of smoke coming From the hopper I called Pit Boss and they told me I may need to get in where the auger is and clean out any sawdust anybody have a quick easy way to get to the order to be able to do this.
I was getting the same from my Lockhart and seen in another forum to do the following. Once you are done with your cook, turn the temp down to 180...not S...just above. Then let your cooker cool down below 200 (15 to 30 minutes)...I go to 190, then hit the power button and let the fan finish the cooldown. Then I unplug. I have not had any more hopper smoke since. So I have been getting a lot of smoke coming From the hopper I called Pit Boss and they told me I may need to get in where the auger is and clean out any sawdust anybody have a quick easy way to get to the order to be able to do this.
Make sure the smoke stack is open, if not the fan will force smoke and or burn back into the auger.Mostly dust right? I hope that’s the only issue why I’m getting a lot of smoke coming from hopper if not that not less what it could be

Empty your hopper and use a shop vacuum to blow out the dust in the auger tubeSo I have been getting a lot of smoke coming From the hopper I called Pit Boss and they told me I may need to get in where the auger is and clean out any sawdust anybody have a quick easy way to get to the order to be able to do this.
Empty it all out. Run the auger to clear it too. Vacuum everywhere you can reach. If you have access to compressed air, finish up with that in tha areas you couldn't reach with the Vacuum. So I have been getting a lot of smoke coming From the hopper I called Pit Boss and they told me I may need to get in where the auger is and clean out any sawdust anybody have a quick easy way to get to the order to be able to do this.
Thanks everyone so haven’t had the time to blow out the auger yet but I did a good cleaning of the fire pot and on the next cook no smoke coming from hopper so maybe it was just dirty and filled.Empty it all out. Like others have said, sift your pellets prior to filling hopper. A big colander for pasta will work. Or if available, use the blower output of a shopvac. Blow the air into a container with some pellets and shake its around at the same time. The lighter pellet dust will be lifted out, leaving just the good.
