Brunswick vertical temperature issues

I am new to vertical smokers so maybe I am missing something, but the internal temp on my Brunswick is reading almost 50 degrees hotter on a Govee bluetooth therm, than what the grill is set at. I tested with one of the probes that came with the gill and the difference was about 40 degrees. Am I missing something?

Will take the controller time to learn temperatures, which will be a few cooks/smokes. If it's in the sun the smoker will run hotter by a few degrees, winter be the opposite if it's cold there.
