Hello. I have a pit boss series 5 vertical with the typical latch door closer. When I shut the door, half the time the latch slips off and when I eventually get it, it seems like it could slip off at any minute. I have the latch adjusted to its closest setting (screwed all the way in) to get the best seal. It just seems like the latch and door handle are a weird/bad design; the latch is rounded and the part it grabs onto is flat, allowing it to slide off. Any tips? I’m thinking of cutting a slit in the door handle for the latch to sit in so it never has a chance of coming out. I fear my dogs are going to bump into it and get themselves a brisket dinner.
