Drip bucket filling with rain water

Anyone else having this problem? I have the Competition Series 1600. The drip bucket hangs underneath but only half of it is covered by the grill. The other half hangs out so when the rain comes it has a path to fill the drip bucket. Am I don't something wrong? Are there solutions to this?

get yourself a cover. thats like an absolute must. you dont want rain and snow getting on and in the electronics or hopper. also when cooking, you dont want it just out in the rain either.

I second Juggnuttz. Buy the cover when you buy the unit. I have a new unit coming Friday. The cover was delivered yesterday. Treat them well and they will treat you well.

I have the Competition 1250. Might help a little if you keep the right side shelf up. I bought a PitBoss cover for mine, else I’d have the same rain issue.

I got a nice black one for my KC Combo on Amazon for $35 thick enough material not Pit Boss but has zippers and Velcro straps. Works great!

Competition Series smokers don’t have a smoke stack. More expensive but Academy sells Comp Series covers.

I cover mine as soon as the smoker has cooled off after a smoke...anything to help block moisture dust dirt and anything else we dont want accumulating is a good idea.

I have found an aftermarket cover for my Louisiana 1000 that seems more durable than my Pitboss cover that was torn on the seam after 2 years. Much less cost too!
