Quick question - I started up a couple of corned beef briskets this morning. I had it preheating on SMOKE for about 15-20 minutes or so before I put on the meat. About five minutes later I get the ERL code that tells me something is wrong with the RTD sensor. It's about 30 degrees outside today. I'm wondering that since I was trying to run it on the SMOKE timed setting (default P4 value), and the grill really wasn't really getting above 130-140 degrees, did it fault out because it thought it should have been hotter? So the controller thought that something was wrong with the sensor?

I turned it off, unplugged it, and restarted it. Instead of SMOKE, I put it at 200 degrees and it has been running great since then.

Does my logic make sense, or do you think there is something else going on? I also wiped off the sensor before I restarted it at 200, but it had been thoroughly cleaned before my last cook, so that probably wasn't the issue.

I had that happen to my PBV4PS2 when it was very cold and windy. Failure to lit or stay lit at startup, I hit start again and it was fine.
Smoker is now out of any cold winds.

OK - thanks for the feedback. Seems similar to me. I think mine was staying lit, but maybe not enough fuel to keep it at a reasonable temperature. Or maybe it went out. Either way, it's been running great the rest of the day. Thank you very much for confirming.
