I followed the instructions to the t on prime and start up for the grill. Got the ERL Code. Cleaned it out. Reached online. Still got the code.

Only thing I didn't clean is the sensor. Figured brand new it should be dirty.

That code is a failure to light the pellets. I got that once on my smoker when it was windy and cold out. Hit the start again to start a new cycle. If you can hear the pellets going into the pot and see the ignitor glowing it should light off, might take another try if cold and windy out.

Trying to do the burn off. Is the sear Plate supposed to be open or close?

I would burn off with closed. There is a school of thought that says burn off should be done slowly to cure paint, but in terms of burning off manufacturing chemicals I suspect it doesn't matter.

Thanks. I got it work. The sear plate had to be closed. These instructions suck. It was under temperature...what is smoking temp, medium and high. Which I knew from other Grills I've owned. I wish it had been inbthe burn off part of the instructions. Just glad it got it finally. It is now burning off. Smoking wings and chicken breasts afterwards
