I Want More Smoke

I’ve never seen a pitboss without a smoke setting P button on it. My 820 does. Please update
Yea I haven't either but I imagine if you set the temperature around 180 or 200 you should get some smoke because at p4 setting I use the temperature is around 180 or 200 depending on outside temperature

Hi all, I have the pro series 850, and there is no smoke setting or "P" for this grill. Its my first pellet grill, so I guess I don't miss what I never had. I WOULD like more smoke, but my smoke tube works well enough.

yes there is,,your controller is the same as mine. See posts 8,12,13 and others, There is no "P", but there is "prime" right on the front of your controller

set your controller at the S setting, it looks like a 5 but it is an S for Smoke, it is the default setting when you first start it up, so it should be on Smoke setting when you start it up unless you are changing the temperature control.

So, in order to get more smoke, I have to stand by the grill and continually press the prime button? Not trying to be a smart ass, but it would seem that there would be a better way. I do use a smoke tube on some of my cooks. Also, wouldn't adding more pellets through the prime function increase the heat?

No you don’t. Once you turn it to smoke press the P button to reach the level you desire. That’s how mine works
