Laredo 1000 : it’s official, this thing is a fire hazard.

I’m having the exact same issue with my smoker. Pitboss has sent me everything except a different smoker. It will build up so much smoke in the pellet hopper I think any minute it’s going to burst into flames. Has anyone found a solution for this yet?
What pellets are you using?

Wow. The only time this has happened to me was when I used Pit Boss Charcoal flavored pellets. I had smoke through the hopper a couple of times. Then someone told me to mix the charcoal pellets with regular pellets and it didn't happen again. I haven't had that happen with any other Pit Boss pellets or any other pellets. I have switched to Cookin' Pellets Perfect Mix since then.

Maybe I’ll try different pellets, I’ve become so disgusted with this smoker. I’m entertaining the idea of going back to a traditional wood smoker.

Bought a bag of traeger pellets once, they burned really fast and when I shut the grill off it was smoking in the hopper. I had to restart the grill and run the prime function. That put the fire (Smoldering) out - I have never had this issue with pitboss pellets.
