Looking to buy a first time Pit Boss

Looking to upgrade from my file cabinet smoker to a Pit Boss. I have 3 locations to purchase, Menards, Walmart and Lowes. Probably looking for a 800-1200 in size. I have a few that I am looking at, so if anyone has some positives and negatives with them, I would appreciate it. I realize I will have to do a little modification so it reads the correct temperature and maybe a deflector to get rid of the hot spots. I also live in Northern Minnesota, so smoking in the winters (6-7 months of the year!) is a necessity, not sure if any model is better or if I need the P-setting. I do have a couple of smoker tubes and a 5x8 maze that I can use. Looking forward to using this forum more and more in the future.

I have a vertical as per my signature here. It fills my smoking niche nicely as I have other devices for general BBQ and griddling.

The newer pro series are the they upgraded the firepot on some of them so it's easy to just remove and dump from underneath it

I have the Pit Boss Savannah from Wal-Mart. I love it, but it's hard to find because it's so good.
